The second mode of Fortune Tiger X-Time introduces an element of timing and reflexes. Gates are positioned at the top of the screen, which can be opened and closed at will. Objects, carried on balls, ascend from the bottom of the screen, and the player must time the opening of the gates to allow the objects to pass through. If the player fails to open a gate in time, the object falls back to the bottom, and the player loses one health point.
